Under the Right to Information Act, 2005, any citizen can request information from government bodies. File an RTI application with Rs. 10 fee (BPL persons are exempt). The authority must respond within 30 days. If not satisfied, you can file first appeal within 30 days, then second appeal to the Information Commission.
