How can I complain to the National Commission for Women?

Short answer

File complaint online at ncw.nic.in, by post, or call 7827-170-170. NCW investigates deprivation of rights, harassment, and violence against women.

Understanding the issue

The National Commission for Women (NCW) is a statutory body that investigates complaints related to deprivation of women's rights, non-implementation of protective laws, and non-compliance of policy decisions. You can file a complaint online at ncw.nic.in, send it by registered post to NCW New Delhi, or call the NCW helpline 7827-170-170. NCW can inquire into complaints, inspect jails and institutions, review legislation, advise the government, and intervene in court proceedings. They can summon witnesses, require document production, and direct police to take action. State Women's Commissions handle state-level complaints similarly.
