Road Accident Just Happened
You are at the scene of a road accident
Do this now
- 01Call 112 (Police Emergency) and 108 (Ambulance) immediately
- 02If safe to do so, help the injured person — rush them to the nearest hospital
- 03You are protected as a Good Samaritan — hospitals and police CANNOT harass you for helping
- 04Note the vehicle number, color, make, and direction if it was a hit-and-run
- 05Ask nearby shops and bystanders for CCTV footage and eyewitness details
- 06File an FIR at the nearest police station — carry photos of the scene
- 07Keep ALL medical bills, prescriptions, and treatment records for compensation claim
Do NOT do this
- Do NOT move a seriously injured person unless there is immediate danger (fire, traffic)
- Do NOT leave the scene without noting vehicle details and witness information
- Do NOT accept any private settlement without consulting a lawyer — you may be entitled to much more
- Do NOT worry about legal trouble for helping — Good Samaritan law protects you
