मानहानि

किसी की प्रतिष्ठा को नुकसान पहुंचाने के लिए उसके बारे में झूठी बातें कहना या छापना मानहानि है। यह बोलकर (मौखिक) या लिखकर हो सकती है।

• A जानते हुए भी B के बारे में झूठा लेख लिखता है कि B ने धोखाधड़ी की। A मानहानि करता है।

Whoever, by words either spoken or intended to be read, or by signs or visible representations, makes or publishes any imputation concerning any person, intending to harm the reputation of such person, commits defamation.
